Q:What was the most important thing that prompted you to come to this country?

A: I wanted to have a good future and new opportunities. In my country things are not very good so I decided to come to the United States for myself to be able to prosper and be able to move forward.

Q:How have you felt in this new stage of your life? 

A: Excited but a little worried about everything new, the language is difficult for me, but in the end I will be able to handle it and I will achieve my goals. 

Q: How are you adapting to this new academic system?

A: It’s a great reflection of what I had in mind. Every day, I give my best to become a better person, and I feel like I’ve finally found my path for the future.

Q: Who is a family member or guardian who has been a source of support for you throughout your senior year, and how have they impacted your journey?

A: The person who supported me the most in coming from Cuba was my father. Thanks to him, I am now studying my last year here in the United States and starting a new life. I am deeply grateful for his support and sacrifice.”

Q: What message do you give to a new Hispanic student who is entering school?

A: Don’t lose hope, that with effort everything can be fixed, this is a country of many opportunities and you don’t have to waste time thinking about what you left behind or will never see again.
